I discuss the need of a fiscal and monetary coordination in order to avoid a stronger inflationary spiral and a deep recession in the US and other economies where public debt is at high levels.

On models of active portfolio management

I describe some of the limitations of existing models of active portfolio management, stressing their dependence on investors' views which are exogenous to the models, and their inefficacy in exploiting market inefficiencies and generating extraordinary returns.
